PSN employee receives AFR Boss Young Executives of the Year Award

Andrew Stewart, PSN’s Business Delivery Manager in Australia, has been named as one of six Australian Financial Review (AFR) Boss Young Executives of the Year.

The 2010 AFR Boss Young Executives of the Year Awards recognises up-and-coming business leaders who have achieved success in overcoming a number of challenges in the face of recent uncertain economic times.

Mr Stewart (33) from Melbourne was recognised for his role in PSN’s successful growth in Australia – in just three years the company has more than doubled its workforce, employing over 1,000 people, and become the largest contractor to the oil and gas sector on the Australian east coast.

Mr Stewart believes PSN is in an ideal position to build on its recent and consistent growth and says his experience with the awards provided him with the opportunity to learn from other leaders in a range of industry sectors.

“It became clear to me throughout the awards process that PSN’s competitive advantages have created an exciting and motivating workplace environment for employees,” he said.

“PSN has developed and retained a strong client base in Australia and one that has been growing despite the global financial crisis, as highlighted by the recently announced contract we secured with Caltex in Sydney and Brisbane.”

A PSN employee since the end of 2008, Andrew has a diverse range of international industry experience, and since 2009 has been responsible for directing a team of over 300 people in Australia to deliver projects for client ExxonMobil in the Bass Strait.

Matt Gavin, General Manager, PSN Australia, says the award is well deserved and reinforces Andrew’s capabilities as a leader in the oil and gas industry.

“Andrew’s achievements also highlight PSN’s ability to attract high calibre employees and provide clients with strategic, problem solving engineers with a range of expertise,” says Mr Gavin.
