Information we collect from you

When you sign up for one of our online services or send an email to us, you give us certain personal information (such as your name, telephone number, email or postal address, etc.) that we need to administer the service you have requested.
When you apply for one of our jobs, you will need to register with us and submit an application.

How we collect this information


We collect your personal information only when you give it to us. Some of the ways this could be are when you complete one of our online forms, or when you send us an email, or when you send your CV to us.

General:
The information we collect about you will only be used to supply you with the products or services you have requested or for other purposes for which you have given your consent, except where otherwise required by law.


Job Applications: 
We will use your information to assess your suitability for the job specified in your application (as well as any subsequent jobs you apply for) and we will keep you informed by email as to the progress of your application.

If we think you are suitable for other vacancies within Wood Group, we may also use your information for this purpose. If your application is successful, relevant information will be used in the administration of your employment.

If your application is unsuccessful, we will keep your application on file for 3 months to deal with any matter which may arise in connection with your application. However, with your permission, we will retain your application for up to 3 years in order to contact you (including by email) about other vacancies which may become available within Wood Group (including its joint ventures)

We may carry out certain background checks using your personal information (such checks may vary from country to country) though we will seek your consent before doing so.


Security and information retention


We have measures in place to keep your information secure. This information may be stored by us either manually or automatically. We will ensure that the collection and use of your information is in accordance with the UK Data Protection Act 1998.

We will not make your personal details available to any outside person or organisation without your consent, unless obliged to by law or when we believe that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights and/or comply with a judicial proceeding, court order, request from a regulator or any other legal process served on us.

In the event that we are subject to a takeover or acquisition we may disclose your information to the new owner of the business.
We only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for us to provide the service you have requested, except where required by law.


Transfers of your information

In particular, if you apply for a job with us (or one of our affiliates, subsidiaries or joint ventures) and the position you have applied for is outside the UK, your job application will be transferred to the local Wood Group PSN team in the country where the job is being offered or, if we do not have a local team, to the Wood Group PSN team which deals with applications relating to that country.

Your personal information may also be shared with a limited number of other Wood Group PSN personnel for the purpose of progressing your application. Some of the countries your personal information is shared with may not have equivalent data protection legislation to the UK. Wood Group PSN will store and process your personal information only for the purposes of distributing and monitoring our e-newsletter. 

Only authorised employees will have access to your personal information and will only access the data if they require it for authorised purposes.
