Discipline focusOur main engineering disciplines are process; safety and environment; instrument and controls, electrical; structural; civil; and mechanical and piping. Our chief engineers are responsible for the recruitment, training and development of all our technical staff.
StudiesOur studies expertise includes problem identification, debottlenecking, life of field extension, conceptual and front end engineering and design (FEED) engineering.

Technical supportOur technical support covers frontline operations and maintenance personnel, construction and commissioning support and responding to engineering queries. Safety engineering Our safety engineering expertise covers all areas of hazard management from preparing design philosophies, to evaluating risk using quantitative risk analysis techniques. We provide guidance, advice and perform studies on leak modelling, gas dispersion modelling, toxic gas analyses, fire modelling, explosion modelling, smoke and gas ingress analysis, and temporary refuge and evacuation, escape and rescue (TR and EER)analyses.
Environmental engineeringOur support and guidance includes conducting baseline surveys, developing training and communication programmes for both office-based engineers and site personnel, and interfacing with third party consultants. We have extensive experience in developing contractual documentation to ensure compliance of third parties to company HSE requirements, coordination of socio-economic strategy and reporting, and audits and inspections.
Advanced integrityWood Group PSN is a centre of excellence for integrity management of structures, pressure systems, and for pipeline corrosion management. We carry out studies to optimise topside and subsea inspection activities with associated cost savings and provide advanced engineering and analysis services, including: effect of fire and blast; effect of boat impact; effect of wave and ice loading; dynamic fatigue analysis; fracture assessments, and weight control management.
