We were asked to use our Value Systems methodology to evaluate the shutdown and disconnect schedule of a FPSO for a North Sea customer. There was uncertainty surrounding the durations for the topsides and subsea works which impacted our customer's ability to meet the required contracted onshore works schedule.
Our team conducted a schedule risk analysis using Monte Carlo simulation techniques to evaluate the durations of the subsea and topsides scopes of work.
Findings identified the duration of shutdown activities and the shutdown start date which allowed contracted onshore works schedule to be met. Additionally, the analysis identified the best time for offloading of production fluids before contamination by cleaning process fluids.
Our recommendation resulted in three additional days of production of 30,000bb/d, yielding revenues of circa $15million.
